Chevron Kindle & Camera Strap Cover

I gave some pizazz to my Kindle Fire Case and my DSLR Camera strap by making slip covers with Chevron Fabric.

I love my Kindle Fire. It fits great in my purse and I can read my favorite book The Child Whisperer, connect and follow up with Pinterest or Facebook and it keeps bored kids entertained with a game why we sit and wait in carpool lines or sporting events for their older Sisters.

I don’t really have any great sewing tutorial on the slip cover. I had a case that was looking kind of shabby and dirty…it still functions great so I just wanted to cover up the worn cover with some thing cute. You can tell I can’t even sew a straight line very well…you seamstress’ would be appalled in horror if you had watched me throw this thing together.  It wasn’t hard but, I probably made things much harder since I just kind of went for it with no idea of what I was doing.  All in all I think it turned out great and covered up the old case that was looking kind of shabby.  It isn’t perfectly stitched together but, I love it because I made it! Hopefully it will inspire you with it’s cute design and fabrics!

I already had a padded camera strap but, it needed new life. I just cut a piece of fabric the same size and width. Hemmed the edges, turned right sides together and stitched it up and then turned it right side out. I forgot to take a picture before I slid it back on my strap and over my other cover.  The only difference is if you don’t have a strap already just add quilt batting. It is kind of a pain threading the camera strap through it so I wasn’t about to take it off for a better picture but, you gift the drift right?

  3. That’s a great Kindle cover, Stacey! It’s so much more personalized than one you could get in a store anyway, where you are limited to the styles they think are popular.
