Spring Candle Spruce Up

Are ya’ll ready for spring like I am? I am so ready for warm days! I decided I needed a glimpse of spring in the house despite the cold air outside and the winter blues that have me feeling a little down.  The Daffodils are blooming and I’ve seen green grass emerging giving me hope of warmer weather soon. I wanted to spruce the living room up for spring by adding some green and spring colors. I am not quite ready for Easter Décor to go up so this was pefect.  I came up with these Spring Candles with Moss, Burlap and Raffia. Best part is they match my living room and can stay up year round.

I got everything I needed and came up with the idea in floral and candle isle of Wal-Mart.  Everything was in that isle except for the burlap roll that I found in the Easter Décor Isle.

Supplies:

Candle, Burlap, Moss Ribbon, Raffia and I used hot glue.

I started with a layer of burlap cut and glued it around the candle. Then cut and glued the moss ribbon which is very cool stuff and pretty easy to work with…I will be using something similar in bigger form on my next project.  Then cut and tied a bow with the raffia. That was it!

I also did a few candles with just the burlap and raffia.  I folded the burlap in half and wrapped it around candles that were slightly smaller. I don’t ever burn my candles and they really are used just as décor accents on top of the living room piano.

Next week I will give you the scoop on how to make these easy peasy moss cone shape topiaries to go with your candles. You can see my last years moss topiaries and directions here. I still use the ones from last year up on top of my kitchen cabinets so, I needed to add to the family.

I am just loving my Spring Spruced Up Candles! Perfect amount of green and color to remind us spring is on its way…and really Easter comes early this year and really not that far away!

Everything you see here is super easy and took about 10 minutes. It defiantly works for an under an hour and under $10 project.

    • yes !!! I am so ready for Springtime…I’m so sick of being inside too much, cause I hate to feel cold these days…I’m getting old I guess. and too sensitive to it. I’m taking an online course in multimedia abstract art. It is making me feel much happier to be doing this art work now. I feel so freed of my art block now ! and that just makes me a happier person.
  8. So pretty! Love the blue candle!!
