Mini Chalk Boards

I am on a role with projects lately and these mini chalk boards are just so much fun! Super easy and around $5 to make.

You will need a wood plaque from the craft store and a can of chalk board spray paint. {I got mine from Wal-Mart when I was grocery shopping}

Lay out your wood plaques on something that can get paint on it and spray them. I gave mine a couple of coats of paint. {Paint tip: I put on a pair of old gloves to keep black paint from spraying on my fresh manicure} Let dry and then optional to hit the edges with a little sanding block to give it an antique look. Follow the instructions of dry time and how to prime your chalk boards with chalk and then your ready to start using them!

You can use them for a Photography Prop, Holiday’s, Birthday’s, Baby Shower’s, Weddings, Table Tops and all sorts of creative things. Most of all your kids will love them! Yes, even my teenagers were having fun drawing on them just minutes after they were dry. What a cute, unique and inexpensive birthday gift with a package of chalk for a child.

I will admit my artistic skills to create chalk paintings is something that I am not good at. I will be practicing my art of Chalk Board Painting! With all the cute chalk board signs out there in blog land you are sure to find some fun cute ways to use your mini chalk boards.

Homemade Burlap Print

Printing on Burlap using your home computer printer is so easy! This project took no more than 15 minutes start to finish.

Fire up your computer and printer. Then get out your freezer paper, burlap, iron and scissors. You will also need a frame. Cut your freezer paper to an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper just like I did for my Heart Garland. [Read more...]

Ruffle Burlap Heart Wreath

I made the Ruffle Burlap Heart Wreath using what I had on hand. I had picked up the grapevine heart shape wreath at the thrift store and it needed to be jazzed up a bit. I have had burlap laying around that I’ve always wanted to make ruffles and decorate something. Little did I know that burlap does NOT ruffle easily.

Valentine Heart Felt Garland

I’ve seen Valentine heart felt garland pictures floating through Blog Land and decided to tackle this a Valentine Décor Project for my home. It was super easy and inexpensive to make. I’ve seen it used for a very cute photography prop for Valentine pictures with the kids or you can decorate with it like I did. There are so many variations you could use with colors and even size or shapes of hearts. I stuck to the basics of 5 colors and 1 size of heart shape.
